The one-stop shop

In 2023, GOVET’s one-stop shop was again able to meet expectations invested as an initial point of contact for parties from abroad interested in German vocational education and training and for supporters of German VET cooperation stakeholders. Following a decline in demand in some service areas during the coronavirus pandemic, the high “pre-COVID” level was once more reached across all segments in 2023. 435 enquiries were answered during the year. 56 information events were held, and interested parties from 176 countries were provided with online information. This high demand for online products doubtlessly also occurred as a result of the numerous presentations which GOVET revised, created and published in new language versions in 2023. More than 10,000 downloads are also evidential of the strong interest.

Once again, there was a notable increase in the number of enquiries relating to of skilled worker immigration. GOVET expertise on matters such as training opportunities abroad or immigration for the purpose of training was sought both via enquiries and via information events. There was a significant increase in enquiries and in the number of visitor groups from countries in Central Asia. Many German stakeholders also submitted enquiries to GOVET regarding these former Soviet states.

In 2023, over forty testimonials from partners abroad were added to the films which are produced by GOVET and made available on the YouTube channels of GOVET and BIBB. To mark the ten-year anniversary of the Federal Government Strategy for International Vocational Education and Training Cooperation from a single source, VET experts and practitioners described their experiences in vocational education and training cooperation and set out their requirements for the future.
