New GOVET presentation: "Certification, accreditation and recognition in the German vocational education and training system"

Certification, accreditation and recognition are terms that come up again and again in international VET cooperation. The new GOVET presentation provides an introduction to this complex subject area and is suitable for information and advisory contexts.
In contrast to other countries, the term of certification (Zertifizierung) is rather unusual in the initial vocational education and training system in Germany. In international vocational education and training cooperation (iBBZ), however, "certification" in the sense of certificates of professional competences and qualifications is an important and frequently requested topic.
The new GOVET presentation offers an overview of the different ways of certification in the German VET system and the reasons of certification for the state, employees and employers. The presentation also looks at the concepts of accreditation and recognition in Germany and the importance of certification for international VET cooperation (iBBZ).
