The GOVET presentation on Dual VET is now available in Farsi. It gives an overview of the core elements of dual VET. GOVET now offers the presentation in 10 languages.
OECD study confirms the efficacay of the German VET system
The recent OECD study “Education at a Glance” shows: Germany is well ahead in terms of youth employment. According to the study this is, among others, due to the well-established German VET system.
Conference on the implementation of the strategy for international cooperation in Vocational Education and Training
Three years ago the strategy of "one-stop VET cooperation" was adopted by the Federal Government. 50 representatives of organisations involved in VET cooperation have met in Berlin. The aim was to discuss the progress, what needs to be done and how collaboration in VET should be developed.
Opening of the SLGTI center of excellence for training in Northern Sri Lanka
The SLGTI will function as a centre of excellence for technical and vocational education and training for Sri Lankan youth from all across the country. It will help to prepare them for a successful transition into the labour market and gain meaningful employment.

GIZ supports development of a Master Degree study program
Germany, through its development cooperation, supports the South Caucasus region to achieve further progress in sustainable economic development by the program "Private sector development South Caucasus" implemented by GIZ on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The German-Russian VET collaboration has been an example of successful cooperation for many years. On 7 June, the departments of education from both countries met together with other stakeholders in Munich. The Russian delegation used the visit in order to look at examples of best practice.
Myanmar and Germany prepare the next phase of development cooperation in TVET
For developing its TVET system, Myanmar is working closely together with Germany. Currently, the ongoing Technical Cooperation, implemented by GIZ, is being evaluated and a new project prepared – with contribution of GOVET.

USA and Germany strengthen collaboration in vocational education and training
As part of the Hanover trade fair, an important podium discussion took place on 25 April 2016 entitled "Innovation & skilled workers: How US vocational education and training draws on the German dual education system".
Germany hosted the Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank for the first time. VET was one of the main topics of the event, resulting in an agreement to expand the cooperation between Germany and ADB in this field. GOVET was represented at the Annual Meeting with an information stand.
The new TVET Report Viet Nam 2015 - developed in the frame of Vietnamese-German cooperation
The annual TVET Report Viet Nam is result of a successful trilateral cooperation between NIVT, GIZ and BIBB. Key topic of the 2015 Report are Centres of Excellence. At a workshop in Hanoi, the BIBB shared expertise on Inter Company Training Institutes in Germany.
GOVET has been providing specialist support to the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in the vocational education and training cooperation with Russia for many years.The activities for 2016 were agreed with the partners in Moscow in March.

Students from the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University examined the implementation of occupational safety in Italian companies. The challenges addressed by Italian education and training reform included occupational safety in addition to attracting companies to participate in company-based training.

The themes of the round table for international collaboration in vocational education and training at state secretary level which took place on the 3 March in Berlin were the refugee situation both within Germany and beyond, the opening of Iran and the UNESCO recommendation relating to VET.
