Two GOVET PowerPoint presentations are now also available in Albanian: the presentation on dual vocational training in Germany and the presentation on the stakeholders of the German VET system. The translations were developed by GIZ and are now available on the GOVET website.
Tanzania—vocational education and training puts young people in a stronger position
Tanzania wishes to introduce dual vocational education and training based on the German model. A pilot project conducted by the Hamburg Chamber of Crafts and Trades is bringing young people up to speed. The plan now is for dual training to be introduced across the country on basis of the project.

South Africa is making curricular development one of the core tasks of its future vocational education and training institute SAIVCET. Representatives from BIBB and GOVET met their South African partners in Pretoria to discuss how curricula are developed and who should have a say in the process.
Myanmar proudly hosted the 4th Regional TVET Conference
The eyes of stakeholders from the field of technical and vocational education and training turned to the fourth Regional TVET Conference 2017 that was hosted this time by Myanmar. It took place from 13 to 14 June 2017 in Nay Pyi Taw, followed by a field trip in Yangon on 15 June 2017.
GOVET publishes its second annual report. The report presents the work results of the three fields of acticvities between 31st May 2015 and 31st December 2016. The report puts forward the rising global interest in German VET.
Federal Government expands international cooperation in vocational education and training
At the conference organised by the BIBB/GOVET for the review of international involvement, government departments discussed the successes and challenges faced over the course of their activities abroad with the press and a specialist audience.
Germany and Greece have extended their cooperation for four years. The major objectives are combating youth unemployment and strengthening employability.
GOVET often gets enquiries from stakeholders asking for documents and materials that are helpful in international VET cooperation. GOVET has therefore created the menu item "Tools". The new menu item gives more visibility to these documents.
3rd batch of Teaching Factory – Training of Trainers in Solo
From 20-26 Nov 2016 the 3rd batch of Training of Trainers of Teaching Factory Teaching took place in Solo. The participants were from 19 SED TVET institutes and 2 additional SMK from Central Java.
Why it is important to promote VET in other countries
Many countries are interested in the German VET system. This demand is met by the Federal Government through diverse VET cooperations. The film "Strengthening vocational education and training, creating opportunities — the international commitment of the Federal Government" introduces to them.
Trainees in the field of media design from Germany created movies about dual VET in Greece, Italy, Russia and Slovakia. The contest was supported by the Ministry of Education, organized and aligned by GOVET at the BIBB. The films are available in German and in the language of the respective country.
