GOVET at the re:publica 2018
GOVET will be present at the re:publica in Berlin between 2 and 4 May to inform visitors about international cooperation in vocational education and training in the era of digitalisation. Join our discussions at the govet stand (a01) or follow us on the web.
GOVET was one of the guests at the re:publica, Europe’s major conference on topics relating to digitalisation and society. Our experts were on hand to discuss the future of employment and to talk about what digitalisation and changing worlds of work will really mean for vocational education and training.
We provided:
Online Sessions with experts from Germany
We put you in contact on the web and at our stand (a01) with the key interfaces in vocational education and training in Germany. These are the issues we found out about. How do you see your own work in future? What opportunities will innovations create, and what are the inherent risks? What does this all mean for vocational education and training?
International representatives
Vocational Education and Training 4.0 is a topic which will bring changes in its wake at a global level. For this reason, we invited VET representatives from other countries to our stand.
Interactive games
What do you know about dual VET in Germany? Do you think you will be able to answer all the questions in our quiz about vocational education and training? Visitors had the opportunity to try out our interactive games.
Panel-Discussion: Crafting the Future – VOC force for tomorrow
One highlight was our panel discussion: Crafting the Future – VOC force for tomorrow which took place on May 3, 2018. Our panel discussion focused on VET in times of digitization. About GOVET
GOVET is the main point of contact for national and international VET cooperation Stakeholders.
GOVET provides information on the German vocational education and training system and on German VET cooperation. Its Website www.govet.international offers materials in numerous languages. Upon request, stakeholders from abroad are linked up with the German partners who represent a precise match for their own particular needs.
In addition to this, GOVET advises and supports the Federal Government in its commitment to using the strengthening of vocational education and training as a vehicle to create prospects for people all over the world. We also act as the administrative arm for the Round Table for international cooperation in VET. In this capacity, GOVET is closely involved in networking with further German stakeholders, such as the social partners, foreign missions, the chambers and implementation bodies.
Another core task of GOVET comprises the design concept and realisation of programmes, consultation measures and projects undertaken within the scope of the bilateral VET cooperation agreements entered into by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). GOVET delivers technical support for the dialogue pursued by the BMBF and its international partners in bilateral working groups. We analyse areas of potential for cooperation and provide evaluation research for projects aimed at the further development of the vocational education and training systems in the respective countries.
Film: "Strengthening VET, creating perspectives – The international commitment of the Federal Government"
Many countries are interested in the German Vocational Education and Training (VET) system. The film presents the diverse range of VET cooperation activities of the German Federal Government. It explains the objective of the German Federal Government and presents several of its projects in partner countries.
Learning video: Dual VET - Vocational Education and Training in Germany
The training of skilled workers in Germany's dual vocational training system is an important basis for the country's strong economy. But what does dual mean? And how exactly does dual vocational training work? Who is involved in deciding what young people learn during their training? In the following explanation film GOVET provides answers to these questions.
